The Beginning
Where It All Began
Built in 1903, this space is part of the oldest section of the historic Central Roller Mills. In its earliest days, it was known simply as The Flour Room — a hardworking part of the mill where flour was milled, bagged, and prepared as the mill served generations of families throughout the surrounding community.
For decades, the rhythms of the mill defined life in Central. The Flour Room was at the heart of it — a place of purpose, labor, and community. When the mill eventually fell quiet, so did this room. But the bones remained: the aged wood, the worn brick, the character that only a century of use can give a space.
The Restoration
Brought Back to Life
Rather than erase its past, we made a deliberate choice: preserve the character and historic significance of the space while giving it a new purpose. The details that tell the story of the old mill remain — the textures, the materials, the quiet sense of something that has endured.
Today, The Flour Room is an intimate event and gathering space designed for baby and bridal showers, corporate events, celebrations, meetings, and small private gatherings. It is a place where guests can experience a piece of local history while making memories of their own.

Our hope is that by preserving and repurposing this special part of Central Roller Mills, its story will continue for generations to come — not only as a reminder of what once happened within these walls, but as a place where new stories can begin. Every event hosted here adds another chapter to a story that started more than a century ago.

The Flour Room accommodates up to 50 guests indoors, with an additional 25 guests welcome on our beautiful, historic rocking-chair front porch. Whether you're hosting an intimate shower or a lively celebration, the space adapts to your vision.
Stems Wine Bar is located on site, making it easy to add something special to your event. Custom bartending packages are available, including on-site bar service tailored to your gathering. Tables, chairs, and linens are included with every rental — because we want hosting here to feel as simple and welcoming as possible.
